Training & Driving
I have always had a great love and
passion for animals and horses. When I was 12 years old, my parents
gave me two horses, one was a Shetland Pony named Sugar Foot and a
Quarter Horse named Eppy Lou.
I took a break until 2000 from the love of these exquisite animals.
When I met my husband, who has been working with horses over 40
years, it brought back the memories. While with his Uncle Glenn
Gornell, training Standard Bred Harness Horses World Wide, he
started out stall detail, walking and grooming and showing him the
ends and outs of the business. With that knowledge and experience he
implemented to our business.
You will notice that our pictures, of our horses they are still
wearing their winter coats. I am a firm believer that horses should
be in their elements. In the spring they loose their winter coats
naturally in time for the show and retain their shiny natural color.
Our show horses goes out and play, get dirty just like everyone
else.
TRAINING:
Our minnies are vaccinated and ready to meet the world challenges.
We handle our horses from birth and teach him sights, smells and
sounds. They do not have problems going up and down stairs as long
as they are not steep. The ultimate test is when the minnies visit
our dogs on a regular basis. Because Prince, is a Siberian Husky, he
does not bark like a normal dog. Princess Sophie, in an American
Eskimo quite the yapper. Our miniatures, has learned not to let
anything distract them from there teachings.
DRIVING:
When we go to purchase a miniature horse what we look for is
bloodline, whether they are well-mannered, conformation,
personality, and potential. There are times we do come across
unregistered horses with the same quality. Our ground training
consist of obstacle courses, to drive Roadster, Country Pleasure and
Open Pleasure Driving. This is also how we categorize our weanlings
for sale.
